Headwaters Intervention Center and Family Crisis Center
Our Vision and Philosophy
The Headwaters Intervention Center and Family Crisis Center serves to provide safety, support and advocacy for all victims of domestic violence. Creating awareness about issues of violence and providing education to our communities is an integral part of the work we do. We act as a resource to community agencies and provide opportunity for victims to affirm their own strengths so that they may realize their full potential and dignity.

The following goals are central to our vision and philosophy:
GOAL 1: To provide support services to all victims of domestic violence.

GOAL 2: To provide a mechanism for the safety and self-empowerment of women and men who are b attered and their children.

GOAL 3:  To increase the awareness of and to promote the elimination of society's perpetuation of violence against all people.

GOAL 4: To provide education, motivation, support and community for victims.

With its history originiating in the Women's Movement, services for victims of domestic violence have grown over the years to serve both women and men who suffer abuse at the hands of another.

It is important therefore, that those persons associated with Headwaters Intervention Center and Family Crisis Center, whether as employees, volunteers, or board members, accept the mission, vision and philosophy of the organization and be willing to participate in the search for non-violent alternatives promoting the empowerment of all victims to gain control over their own lives.
